I watched it I didn’t read it, and I’m currently on episode 12 of the anime. Is it just me or do people keep getting Tomo out of the loop? They hide so much from her, and instead of being straightforward they do things that hurt her instead. I think they take advantage of her security, trust, and friendship way too much. Or maybe I’m overthinking?
It’s just that there were so many instances the other characters had where they hurt her. Like when Carol literally straddled Jun, and kissed him on the cheek. Or when Jun avoided Tomo for a whole-ass year. Or when Misuzu decided to avoid her as well instead of telling Tomo what she’s feeling. Tomo, for me, is such a genuinely kind character, but as shown throughout the anime she’s also insecure about her femininity and how she’s viewed by others. The way they act towards her, knowing full-well that she’s insecure, make me so mad on her behalf.
I know that’s it’s just an anime, that I shouldn’t take it seriously, but I feel so bad for my girl like

I love love love sohan, he’s such a great character. He’s so realistic, in more ways than one. He’s kind of irrational about mercy and forgiveness, but logical when it comes to living and lifestyle. His personality is also timid, and I like that his timidness is kind of refreshing instead of being boring like other characters. He’s just such an interesting character.

I’m pretty sure we can trust doha, but I honestly don’t understand his motives and whatnots. My theory is, the reason why Hyungshin forgot about the previous session was because him and the other npc managed to escape, and Doha’s preventing Bada from doing anything that makes Bada forget about him? Or I think he’s preventing Bada from going back to the “real world” because he doesn’t want them to separate. Imo, it’s more likely that Bada is an original player in the game as well that just gained consciousness, but I still honestly don’t know.

My theory is, Doha is a player, who doesn't know he's a player. What I mean is that Dreadful Night is a game where NPC Bada has knowledge of the game and only when interacting with him can the player advance through the game.
Think about it, since Doha is the only one able (to our knowledge) capable of killing the killer, he is the player. But why can't he remember anything before Bada told him that they are inside a game and all of that?
Bada is an NPC (I think Bada said he can't remember anything before the whole game thing) whose settings and background story is knowing Dreadful Night is a game and who knows information about the game and that has been trying to scape from the game.
The whole scenario might be that only when interacting in the correct way with the correct NPC, can the player advance.
The player has to have the restrictions of repeating the game endlessly without knowing until they can get information from NPC Bada Lee, then that's when the true Dreadful Night starts.

Omg this makes sense too, it’s a really good theory! I didn’t even think about the fact that only Doha can kill the killer, and Bada can’t. I simply forgot cause of the whole sex thing But yeah, were there instances where the other came close to killing the killer as well? I don’t remember anything, but I do remember hyungshin interacting with the killer before, when he came out of the shower.
If your theory’s correct, then I’m very confused by Doha’s behavior pre-gaining-consciousness. His character and personality seemed so different post clarity, because he was known to be as a “nice guy” or the “rational one,” did he perhaps changed because he found out that he was in a game, and that he can bend the rules a little?
It’s all so very confusing god damn.
This is so beautiful :( I’m so glad there were side chapters, because I was not ready to let this story go. It’s so nice to see them be happy together knowing that their upbringing had been nothing but sad and complicated. Seeing them both love and have complete devotion towards one another—having so much respect and kindness and affection—is what made this story so compelling and heartfelt. I’m so so glad I got to read this!!!
