Asami is a projection of the author. You should ask the author why she loves Aki so much instead of Fei. She always writes Fei in a way that's really cruel by always making him see AxA in love and having those type of thoughts like they only love each other and of loneliness.

When Lui Feilong was first introduced he was a sob. of the first order. To get the disc back from Takaba his men did what to Takaba. when they failed what did he do to his men.He was written at that time to be an sob. He was suppose to be that way . The characters serve the purpose of the artist , All of them are there to service the plot including the m.c. That Feilong is not this Feilong. It is the writer's job to tell her own story bec. only she knows it. We the reader can buy it and enjoy their work. Every one is not going to get what they want from this story or be pleased. Feilong will not be part. with Asami nor Takaba(in bed)yet he is shown as a big part of this story line . How can that be cruel? No other character is getting that including Mikhail who has been seen once. It is cruel to Feilong who was fighting with Asami? Who opened this chapter with that double mirror image was that Feilong? Who was shown helping was that Fei? Ca.t please every one.

Love is something that happens to you whether or not the person you love is your supposed equal in life (society defines equality or not it seems). FeiLong and Asami are what society would call equal and anyone can see that they easily match as a couple and could have been in a relationship if Asami had felt that way towards FeiLong but he didn't back then and he doesn't now! What captured Asami's heart was a young, full of life ball of crazy called Akihito and despite all that has happened between them their love for each other just gets stronger. That is the mystery of love - you just cannot tell who you will fall for.

The writer puts down her story. You the reader either like it or not. The characters serves the purpose of the plot and the author . She decides the best way to use them not the reader. Saying Sensei is mean to Feilong makes no sense.

This isn't really how fiction works. The author created a character, Asami, who is constructed of various personality traits. That personality dictates the choices in the story, not the author directly. Once the personality is established, if the author tries to make the character behave counter to his personality, she will lose the trust of the reader. So it isn't that the author wants Asami to be with Akihito; it's that the author created a character, Asami, who wants to be with Akihito.

Fei was not liked when he was first introduced. He was not liked esp. for some of the actions in the past taken by him towards Takaba. That is not the Fei we see today. Yet it is the same writer.

True: you don't know who you will fall for. True: to make a relationship lasts you need things in common otherwise is a myth.

Do you understand what fiction is? This is a love manga, highly dramatised and romanticised. It's is the author's fantasy, the story she wishes to tell, of characters she lovingly crafted with personalities and likes and loves and dislikes and hates all decided by her.

that's an interesting point of view, I'm not so sure it's entirely true. (I think) she simply created two strong characters, perfectly aware they would have attracted different kind of readers and, as a result, she multiplied her selling. I would never invest a cent on Aki but I spend money on Fei. To me, when you create such a passionate character, that's where your heart really is. Aki is a stereotype by all means, the same goes for Asami, it's Fei who's the interesting one, the one with a tormented souls, as you pointed out. He's the one struggling for something that should actually be beyond his interest ('cause he's not a pretty boy, he's a damn mafia leader).
Does he want Asami… does he want Akihito… or what he really wants is ruling the world because he cannot deal with someone else's independence? Everyone is so anxious to see little Tao becoming his lover…. I wish him to become something more. Maybe the one who will kill him. But not a banal lover, even though I know sensei will write what sells the most (=lover).

You want to believe so badly that sensei actually secretly loves Fei the most and wants to base this whole manga about him but couldn't do so for the money. Truth is, she just lacks the passion to create something solely for Fei. She could easily have done a few extras or even focused just one more volume based on Fei but even that, she did not do. I doubt that would have affected her finances that much. She has been running this manga for more than 10 years, I'm sure she is already at a point in her life where she can chase her dreams. She just doesn't write what she doesn't want to and doesn't have interest in.

Pointless or not, it's happening irl.. No matter if you realize it or not. Of course, the higher the price, the better the quality. But when the price gets to a certain point, the quality only differs slightly with the varying prices. And that's when brand, personal satisfaction, taste, etc. comes into play.

Of course, they're extremely bad for your health. And any doctor will tell you so. To give you another example - famous model Naomi Campbell has to wear a neck brace, because her back has also suffered damage - just like Prince - due to wearing high heels over many years. But as far as I know, she's still wearing them. And feet deformation is so common, that getting surgery for that is like getting your wisdom teeth pulled. Sometimes the damage won't show itself for a decade, and then it suddenly appears in all its nasty glory. The price of the shoe is completely irrelevant. The weight imbalance created by the elevated heel is causing the problem, not the material and not the design. Besides that, your genes play a big part in whether your feet and back can endure that level of pressure or not. Or better for how long. If you wear them lifelong, then damage is absolutely certain to happen.

Actually, my mother used to wear heels non stop in her 20s and 30s, and she had to get surgery done on her second toe because it was so damagend from wearing them. It doesn't bother her to much in her daily life but doing sports like hiking or doing is really hard for her.

Imagine being borderline obese and forced to wear high heels for your work and everyday you have to climb stairs to get to a certain place. And they forced you to wear it just because you are female and it had nothing to do with the line of work you have whatsoever and failure to comply will resort in sanctions. That is the complete opposite of empowering.

You are completely missing the point. Sensei is taking Rogi (and us) on this journey into the past so that Rogi can take the trust that Tatsuyuki gave him and transform his life in the present. He can't do that if he doesn't directly confront his past.

You are missing the point, which is to wonder why authors (even brilliant ones like this one, that can draw in an almost perfect way) feel compelled to describe us whatever pass to such assholes' mind in order to guarantee selling rates. There's really nothing behind a clinical interest in "understanding" someone like Rogi. He's plain disgusting. He does not even have the vague justification (let's call it so) that someone previously abused him: all he did was because he's a total bitch. No one should take interest in someone like him. This is a manga, so his final friendship with Akitora's son works, but in real life, he would just get a hole through his head because that's what he deserves. It makes me sick when people support this kind of character.
It is possible to appreciate an author's intelligence when they are capable of describing twisted characters, but here what's really required from the public is sympathy for an asshole. I don't like it at all.
