Some authors do those plots to somehow show some advocacy toward taboos. Most of them are not in BL and some were main however,a lot of them are side characters which they don't really get to fully explored. Taboos are now surfacing and become as a routine. Some authors did it just for fun, or creating a disrupt for the social norms. Art is freedom, you can do what you want with it. Art is the best way to show it.
