I really like how this author writes her characters. They each have their own motivations, the FL has such phenomenal character development, and even the flawed characters make sense in a way where they aren't despicable.
Spoiler**
Khalid is such a flawed character, but really showcases the author's ability to write a flawed character well. His deranged obsession and flawed reasoning make sense based on his implied history, and his inability to let go of Estelle fits far better than if he were to give in and let her live happily with a commander of the nation his own for. Y'all, this is a man who kept the skull of the woman he killed displayed in a shelf in his mansion.
And he doesn't even slightly think that his actions are something to condemn. He thinks he is free of guilt and even better than everyone else.
My guess is that he is the reimbursement of Ares, and that his obsession over Estelle is a reflection of Ares's.
To add to that, the author's choice of showing that connection while retaining each character's unique story and development, and without making them take on the memories and experiences of Ishtar and Ares... It makes this story such an enjoyable and captivating read.
This is such an awesome webtoon, I can't wait to see how the story concludes.
I got so taken aback after letting this series marinate. The sudden Uber masculine art was crazy, honestly it's like a yaoi manga style.
I feel like the way the characters act also changed a little? But maybe that's just the author trying to accelerate the plot.
I have the gist of the plot but on a whole there are some flaws in the story telling which make it hard to follow along, especially as a story which really started as a what seemed like a PWP. That is to say, it wasn't plot heavy to begin with, and in fact the magic spell on Leah feels like a cop out to drag on the series; it feels unexpected, but not in an exciting way.
I feel like it needs more context.
Also, the art is kinda.... Weird. It gives me that uncanny valley vibes, and the expressions the characters have are unnerving.
What did the emperor do to Rieta's family that caused such severe grief for her? I can't recall the story and I don't want to go scrolling through 160 chaps to find out
