Just how much time has passed since then? Why is king scorpion taking a leisurely multi month long tour of the desert before attacking? Just what time line is the author using here?
I can’t tell how much time has passed at all since the start of anything! No really! I can make a timeline that says, “this came before that” but I couldn’t tell you what year it was in, how many years she’s been there, or any timeline that includes… well, time.
Well, I know the eagle dude can at least glide and dive. Though it's a mystery how he got in the air in the first place to even glide...

That's because he decided to stay there and she knows this as his partner. He will only come back after they all become strong enough to over power the guys Andy is holding back at the sun. Please have patience and let's cheer for them to move it already, toughened up and have Andy join and recover ╥﹏╥

If I had to speculate, he is probably thinking it's female now because the gestation period is longer than with males.
That said, she doesn't appear to be pregnant but that doesn't mean that she's not. Just watch any episode of I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant (US). Lol.
Plus of course we're assuming she has no period.
