What actually happened here? This story started off so incredibly promising, so passionate. Their culmination fight was so emotional, the seme seeing the empty room was heartbreaking... In the official version him just smiling and laughing at that farewell party felt so out of character and out of line with the pace built up until now, like the manga had to quickly end and get a good ending while skipping a whole lot of necessary drama. The new York part was also lacking so much depth. I absolutely loved the beginning and middle of this story and how it was building up to the revelation of their feelings. I wish we had seen an ending of them getting their heart-stirring reconciliation with the same emotion the story had been built until now. 4/5
