coming from someone who easily is entertained by literally anything (mary sues, anything you name) , i really tried to give this many chances, but i've had enough after ch 75

this was honestly so disappointing, that i feel like i've wasted precious hours reading up to chapter 75. so here is a long review that i didn’t expect to be so long.

first the good that i appreciate about the story:

i absolutely adore her family, although i should be feeling icky because the emperor originally paid no attention to his own son until the new empress came along, but its whatever bc i still enjoy how cute they are lol. Isis is such a cute brother! & i love luminas / loon he’s really funny as his own character, and honestly he’s so pretty and silly n i love silly characters sm.

now onto the bad

Its honestly disappointing how this story is being laid out. Plus the pacing is atrocious. First complaints right at the start of the story; why not reincarnate the mc as a girl resembling her past life?? this could effectively combat the unfortunate notion that having black hair is considered less desirable which is how she felt. I believe the sadness she feels about not sharing the same features as Marianne could have been addressed by portraying a family that unconditionally loves her, regardless of her appearance in her new reincarnation. It's disappointing that the narrative chose to reinforce the stereotype of white hair and unique eyes being rewarded and beautiful, rather than challenging it.. it wouldve made her SOOO much more powerful and iconic than literally honestly looking almost like her past sister with that white hair like imagine u see her finally up against Marianne, and the mc just resembles her past lifes appearances so much that would’ve been such a powerful scene.. but u know, its whatever, it’s just really disappointing because just that would’ve have so much potential to be bigger and grow many more ideas!!

and the biggest EW of them all: romance?? It’s unfortunate how i knew the older brothers friend, voan was going to be an interest just from when she was a little baby. I was praying that, that wouldn’t happen but here we are chapters later it’s implied, but then straight up literally expressing that he likes her chapters later… this entire time as i see him on screen w the mc, i’m like “bro that’s literally your brother’s little sister.” I pray that isis will keep that guy outta her life romantically because that’s just so ODD..???
But it’s just like.. hello? can they introduce a guy whose her age and not her older brothers age or beyond that age??? if theyre gonna introduce the romance aspect when she's 14. i fully wouldn't mind a stereotypical slowburn where she meets a guy her age and they finally get together years later (as generic as that is, it’s much better than whatever the hell is going on in the story right now). but no.. oddly the author wants these older men to like the mc or form some sort of interest in her. it's really odd especially since its even said in one of the panels that "she may be too young for a last resort" something like that, like the author completely acknowledges that shes too young to even potentially be with these men but they want these older men to be flocking towards her..
It was cute until it felt like the story was getting nowhere. only reason i'd give this 2 stars is bc the spirit king is cute, her entire family is cute but otherwise, as slow as the pacing is, i'm never probably gonna see what i've been anticipating and it truly feels like we've gotten nowhere. i'm more interested in the other family and as cute as her current family is, i want the plot to go forward, and at this rate it does not seem like it. nothing is wrong with filler, i enjoy and love filler for books that i love. However if the story has yet not progressed, it’s just boring and a yawn because we’re intrigued more by the story rather than whatever she’s doing.. I will MAYBE revisit this when there's more chapters and better pacing..
