Maybe it's becoz i haven't read that much but in almost EVERY MANHUA shit the drama all roots from terribly (written) toxic family member/s and they r just straight up annoying especially in webcomics, LIKE SHIT JUST STOP U CAN MAKE BETTER CONFLICTS THAN THAT. Yea the parents r pretty reluctant with him being gey but at least they didn't do some unnecessary drama like make them hardcore homophobes or something, they slowly but not fully atm try to accept for what he really is an they start to chill just like Yi's fam.
Usually the toxic fam is a sibling but daaaaaamn the brother is kool, he instantly accepted him when Quiyu was revealed to be homo and later turned homo himself too eyyy I really love him.
