i think there's been some hints that somewhere in the other world some japanese people exist (stuck or transported there) and i start to overthink things like why there was a door to the other world in the first place and how Shinobu and taisho knew
The author's other izakaya story is set in the same universe, altough it's in Oiria (?) which is the another country in this story. Gen's izakaya has been there longer too.
