Make a schedule and set up reminders to help you stick to it. One thing I would do was an "on the hour every hour" rule. I would start working on my assignments at the o'clock. I hardly look at the rating because of that. Some stories get good ratings because of the art and/or smut rather than the plot. What I noticed is that if a story has a lot of three-star ratings, then it is pretty meh. I think that's about as far as you can trust the rating system.   reply
