The demon king and his "don't kill" bullshit is so fucking irritating, whoever tf it was in the past maybe the princess's past self was dumb af, every single of those heroines or mothers to make their potential lover/son promise "don't kill" are dumb as hell. If killing the bad and nastiest person who would not hesitate to harm thousands of people is a crime then they need brain to think.
