this is one of those times I have NO interest in the second couple (could care less if they have a story of their own) the brother is literal trash and even takashi I don't like very much
tomoe was put through so much emotional abuse and neglect since so young but hey it's all Good and dandy cause they're sooooo in love, nah fam FUCK his brother
I give takashi a sort of a pass cause he raised tomoe but he wasn't all that better since tomoe grew up thinking he was only valuable if he was good and obidient
you could even tell he was well aware tomoe blamed himself for what happened and used it to subtly manipulate him and if that wasn't enough he seemed unnaffected by the way tomoe's brother treated him, bro if the person I was romantically involved with was abusive towards someone I considered MY CHILD, my feelings would NOT stay the same
she's the ever so perfect do-no-wrong female lead, she'll be the one to defy the odds because of course she will
lol I came back to see what the story was up to and yep, still the same
OP mary sue route for the protag
give her some more chapters and even this guy who apparently HATES her will fall for her too
I've said before, the art is AMAZINGLY STUNNING but it's not enough to carry the story so far atleast for ME, I can't stress this enough it's my PERSONAL OPINION
it's not like it's a bad story but the FL is way too perfect, and all the other characters personalities are based around worshipping the floor the female lead walks on
I don't know it feels bland to me
I see, but the thing is My problem with that it's that dying in the end (only to then comback) doesn't really change her character at all or more like it doesn't erase everything up until now it only just gives it a slightly unexpected ending to the already bland story. If the interesting part JUST happens at the end then it's pointless. it's just means that pretty much everything until now won't change
she'll still be an unrealistically perfect FL and the other characters (unless they decide to suddenly make them develope a personality) will still feel one dimensional
also, take into consideration it may not even end like that at all because manhwas usually change a lot of things from the original
AGAIN, and I cannot stress this enough, IT'S JUST MY OPINION
you have every right to like the story, it's a lovely story with amazing art
it's just not for me, I actually dropped it and came back just to see if anything interesting had happened out of curiosity
bro I'm sick of new characters that turn out to be untrustworhty awful people. Every time there's a new one I already hate them because I know what's coming. The author just loves torturing denji just for the fuck of it
I think asa is the only other character aside from aki, power and nayuta to TRULY care for denji so I hope they continue interacting more cause damn "the kiss with asa was the only time I wasn't hurt" bro that broke my heart
another thing is that we're just constantly shown the worst sides of human nature in this manga CONSTANTLY, ALL THE FUCKING TIME.
shit's giving me Depression ☆premium☆
I always find it sort of funny how the japanese view foreigners like exotic animals
"chocolate colored skin" that made me cringe I'm not gonna lie
then theres the random throwing of french phrases here and there?
also the whole "foreigners are touchy" trope
this guy LIVES and works in a japanese company someone like would have a decent enough grip on japanese social cues and wouldn't just kiss someone on the cheeck like that just cause he's french
I don't know maybe I'm being too judgy but it feels like the story is written solely with the gimmick that the guy is a foreigner
the idea that foreigners are touchy and kiss each other to say jhello but not at least making a quick google search that it's a bise and there's a specific number of cheek kisses depending or location and you don't even really kiss the person's cheek you only press your cheeks together and go muah and you alternate cheeks and its most of the time only when a man and a woman says hello or goodbye and men mostly shake hands. like what? and ppl aren't stupid, like others said, he lives in japan, speaks japanese, he surely has the brain to follow japanese customs in japan, as we say, in rome do as romans do. like bffr
I don't know how to feel about the possibility of blanche and verite becoming a thing?
like he has taken a child's appearance now sure but he was still an adult for like 3/4 of the story so far and I'm pretty sure he's still mentally an adult as well
that's the mirror's technical age since being made but it has been hinted that verite himself MIGHT actually be a human soul sealed within the mirror itself, as he performs in ways other magical items can't like the fact that he has free will and is able to freely comunicate and have fluent conversations
and judging from his demeanor he must certainly does not present as a child
at all, had he not shrunk to keep sevelian from losing he'd still be viewed as an adult
I feel like there could still be a possibility that’s he’s a child In the pass chapters they mentioned the prince going missing in the fairy kingdom and I immediately thought of verite. So even if he is a soul sealed in the mirror there are still chances he could be a child or at least not an adult yk.
Her torturing fjord to that extent is so many different levels of fucked up I can't even...
like for one because it's just downright awful, abusive, and beyond cruel to say the least but also because if you remember it was said that fjord dies in 3 years in the original timeline which leads me to believe he could have easily died from the abuse going too far
Very true but I think he died during a rebellion or something.
Like... not a "natural" death...
Like not abuse but from either his powers going rampant or his mother using him as a scape goat to get away with something.
