I think the mangaka intended this reconciliation scene to show Ruby's strength, but to me it reads as Kana dodging responsibility for hurting her friend. Which... is a little ironic because the chapter just showed how Ai was shaped: she showed a strong face so people continued to be cruel. I could be reading this wrong and this is exactly the mangaka's intention.
Why would Eros accept Medea's offer? Maybe I'm missing something, but she's made it pretty clear she's not on his side? Would it expand his influence and power? Or is that pussy too bomb and he just wants her?
I think it's more like an obsession. She is the one person in the world that he can't control, who is so very much like him but completely different. He created a delusion in his head so strong that he can't let go of it. He's not in love and love is not the reason he can't let go. He's infatuated with the delusion of obtaining the unattainable and control that which can not be controlled, completely possessing the one thing he could never properly have.
I really wasn't into her relationship with Eckles (Eclis? wish there was consistency across the translations for names) because it was just... kinda icky? Penelope acts pretty weird when she's with him and his behavior made me cringe LOL. I almost wished Penelope had just left him alone. But pretending to be subservient to try and bind her to him makes Eckles more interesting to me. Waiting for shit to hit the fan.
that was kinda the point. she is completely just using him for her own gain. if she didnt, she honestly wouldnt have survived most likely. the relationship is veryy toxic and i believe thats exactly why the color of eckles’s favorability thing is black. ikr tho i wanna see how their relationship specifically turns out
As much as I love Penelope she’s really only treated him like her escape goat and last resort if things go wrong, but he deserves to be truly happy, even he can tell that she doesn’t truly love him (like when he says he can’t sense any warmth from her smile or eyes or smth) I want him to be happy :(
The "friendship" with the childhood friend feels SO forced, like I don't get the point of this supposed love-triangle when it's just a dude practically begging for scraps... I find it kind of hard to believe that he's important to Hwibum at all lol
Bro same
I get it fr, when he first appeared I immediately thought he was just gonna be there for plot and the drama aka love triangle that make problems for our main couple, he feel so random, you don’t see him calling hwibum in the early chapters(unless I miss some details), only after he was already introduced, but I don’t wanna judge or assume, cause maybe he’s the person who save hwibum from jumping to his death in that one chapter, who knows
I don’t think it could be the childhood friend who saved him bcs Hwibum very slecifically remembers that it was someone with jet black hair who saved him, in which hwibums childhood friend does not have, I mean yeah maybe he dyed it during those years but Hwibum would’ve remembered if it was his friend that saved him rather than a random person
