The whole thing of not interacting with people of his same culture/enthicity is relatable in a way I hadn’t expected to read about in a bl. Like the pressure to be fluent in your native language and the shame you feel when you aren’t completely fluent and surrounded by people who are so you feel better talking to and hanging out with people outside your culture/ethnicity. This is nice to see and hope that the characters and story continue to develop

Like its more comfortable being the odd one out in a group of foreigners because being the person that came from a different culture, its a given that you're abit different so its fine . but when you're the odd one out in a group who, by all appearances should share the same culture as you, it just feels as if you're a bad guy because how dare you forget your roots.

I can’t help but feel that an underlying message of his story is that homosexuality will never be as good as heterosexuality and that gay people are really gay, they just haven’t met the right person yet. In this world omegas give birth and such are equated with women. The seme might try to make it work with betas and alphas, in this situation men, but it’ll never be as good as an omega or woman. The reason it never worked out with other omegas is because he just didn’t meet the right person yet. So basically, your not really gay/ not into women/ omegas you just haven’t meet the right person yet. It’s a strange feeling since this is a BL but it’s so hard to shake off that this is what the story
is about.
