Why everyone encouraged Yona to hate Soo-woon when he killed her father, but are against Soo-woon hating King Il for killing his father?
We all saw that adored his father, and he also knew that his father loved his brother. When Il killed Yuhon, Soo-woon felt more betrayed than how Yona and Hak felt when he killed Il. Yes, he tried to kill Yona, but initially, he didn't even want to, he decided to do that when she saw him killing her father.
I think that the real victim of all this story is Soo-won, he is seen as the evil, but he was only a child, that had to deal with the murder of his beloved father (a complete idiot because he is the cause of all these problems), and the illness of his mother. He tried to be a perfect child in front of his mother in order to replace his father, and meanwhile, he was used by all those adults that didn't want Il as king and continue gathering at his house all the time. When Yona lost her father, she got help and good advices everywhere she went, while Soo-won was surrounded by people that couldn't care less about how he was feeling, and only wanted him to get a revenge and to be the next king. What kind of advices could they have given to him?
What pissed me off was the previous chapter, where King Il knew about Soo-won future and his own, but instead of trying to repair for what he and his brother did, he continued being a coward, and continued rejecting Soo-won, so that he could keep on hating him. King Il was a grown man, he could have talked with Soo-won,face to face instead of waiting for his murder without doing everything, that is the proof that he was an egoist that wasn't really ready to ask for forgiveness for what he did to his brother. If he had tried to fix everything, the lives of Yona, Hak and Soo-won wouldn't have been ruined like that. Moreover, he desired to be the king because of his resentment for his brother, but he didn't even tried to work for that country, the only thing that he wanted was for his brother not to be the king, but as we could see, he was the worst king that Kōka kingdom could have in that moment as he success to ruined the life of millions of people during his reign. I think that neither him or Yuhon merited to be father's of Soo-won and Yona and they contribute to make Soo-won be perceived as the bad in this story.
Ps: for those who say that Soo-won is playing the victim, I would like to remember you that Soo-won is perfectly aware that he is doing bad stuff and he knows that he tried to hurt other people, and he has never ever tried to act as a victim.
