I'm confused.Too much going on...hope it all becomes clearer and less of a cluster fuck. It was hard just trying to follow speech bubbles and who saying what. Just too cluttered (⊙…⊙ )
I do feel it was a bit messy in appearance, but everything was pretty clear to me. Could it be you aren't familiar with the other characters?
I love the warui series (afore Nanao and Aikawa!) It just seemed a bit messier than her usual work

For some reason my comment registered as reply^. And it kept trying to do that! Anyhow, these two couples were not good. Didn't sense a connection in first couple. Second couple was in love with hurting each other. Just not very good.
.... nah... they have really interesting interactions and emotions going on.. but she definitely is an authore for audience that can see this things going on in everyday life, otherwise it can appear as you say no connection, no love ;)
