What if there is more serum in the basement? Dr. Yeager injected Eren with the serum when he was a kid, so the question is, where did he get it? Maybe he knew how to concoct it and there is more in the basement. Maybe Erwin and Armin can both be saved. I don't know if this sounds too far-fetched. It's just a thought that crossed my mind.
its not too far-fetched but the problem and the reason they're trying to get in Shinganisha (probably spelt wrong) is to get to the basement but at the moment, they are being held back by the beast looking titan and other titans under his command. and now they have many dead and injuried soldiers even with the retreat of the beast like titan guy. Bertolt is with Eren and crew while Reiner was taken by beast like guy. Eren could seal up the two gates that were destroyed by them but they now have time on their hands due to both Armin and Erwin being in very bad shape. and not only that, they'd have to kill any remaining titans before they can even think of getting to the basement.
yes, I think they will both be saved. There are so many ways the situation could go I can't even begin to list them all. I think I know how it will happen. I don't think it will be the basement. I sort of think the basement might be a red herring. I think it will happen through the actions of the characters. I believe that Levi will play a strong role.
i don't think they'll both be saved because the serum can't be shared and i think isayama has been stalling erwin's death for too long to not kill him and let him live again.
I had a feeling that this was going to happen. I knew that somehow it was going to come down to a decision between saving Erwin or saving Armin. If I had to choose, I would pick Erwin to get the injection. He is too much of an important asset to lose. It is because of him that they were even able to get this far. He risked his life countless times for the sake of humanity. He has been nothing but brave, selfless, and noble up to this point. I'm not discrediting all of the great things that Armin has contributed, but I believe Erwin is a more valuable asset to the scouts due to his experience, perceptiveness, and devotion.
I also want Erwin to live for Levi's sake. Levi has lost everyone in his life who he's ever been close with. He lost his mom, uncle, best friends, and his elite team. He's lost so much already and no one should have to go through that. I know I'll probably get hate for this, but I think Eren and Mikasa are being a bit selfish. I know how badly they want to save their friend, but they are not thinking about the consequences of saving Armin over Erwin. Like I said before, Erwin is more seasoned than Armin. He has proved himself as brave and unwavering. He is too valuable to lose. He played a major role in the events leading up to this standoff. I'll admit that I'm a bit biased since Erwin is my favorite character (other than Connie), but after intensely contemplating this situation, I think it's in everyone's best interest that Erwin lives.
One last thing I wanted to point out, what the hell does Mikasa think she's doing? Is she intent on killing Levi if he gives the injection to Erwin instead of Armin? What the fuck will that accomplish? He's the strongest living human and the best titan slayer in the scouts. I've never had anything against Mikasa, but if she decides to exact revenge on Levi for whatever decision he makes, she will seriously become my most hated character in this manga. She needs to compose her fucking self and not act like a reckless idiot.
I get what you mean, but can you really say that about Erwin? In the last couple of chapters, he admitted that he was not fighting for the sake of humanity. He was fighting to prove his own beliefs. He said that he fooled himself to believing that he was fighting for humanity, a noble cause, to the point where he fools everyone else as well. I think bringing him back to life will cause him more pain, since he started to talk about the amount of dead comrades that died because of his decisions. Bringing Erwin back to life will be making the man do the same things that are haunting him. Erwin is human, I feel like it'll be too much for him to handle. In addition, Levi failed to kill off the Beast Titan, which was Levi's last promise to Erwin. His hesitation has led the lost of Reiner. (If I was Levi, I would've thrown that serum at Eren and chase after that beast titan mofo). Also, Levi is the adult in the situation. I love Levi to death, but I don't agree with the idea of causing people you care about the same pain that you yourself dealt with. Losing Armin, will continue the process of losing every person important to Eren, the same pain that Levi dealt with. Choosing Erwin instead of Armin will be making Eren a new "Levi." Except this time, Eren probably won't help the Survey Corps. Also, Armin can do so much more for humanity. I believe that he has the potential to surpass Erwin as a strategist. I think Armin handled this fight a lot better than Erwin did. Like, I know Erwin only had one arm, but it does not take a person with two arms to suggest looking in the wall for Reiner and Bertolt. I think my opinion is rather fair since my favorite character is Levi, and not Erwin or Armin.
Every one is saying that Levi should be able to save one of the people he cares about, but the thing is, isn't everyone in Levi's new squad someone he cares about? Was no one moved by the way Levi watched Eren, Armin, and Mikasa were talking about the outside world. I was definitely moved. It reminded me of Levi, Isabel, and Farlan talking about the above ground city.
However, I gotta say, I totally agree with you on Mikasa. She needs to calm her shits. I swear. Also, why is everyone saying that Levi is crying? Eren is clearly the one crying. I looked back at it and I can not find a crying Levi. What are people seeing? I want to see a crying Levi.
I hope that if Levi does end up giving Erwin the serum, Eren doesn't let rage fuel his actions. If Eren were to turn his back on the survey corps, he's be turning his back on all of humanity. The deaths of all the scouts before him, his comrades, and even his mother would have been for nothing. I don't think Eren would ever do something so reckless, but you never know.
If he wasn't fighting for the sake of humanity, then why would he agree to go through with the suicide mission? He was willing to give up his life without ever knowing of the secrets within the basement. If he was only thinking about himself, he could have easily strayed away to the basement to find the answers himself. Even though Erwin said he wasn't actually fighting for humanity and that he fooled everyone into believing he was, he still devised reliable plans for scout missions, ventured outside the walls countless times, and put his life on the line. He was even almost killed by the government when he was trying to overthrow the king. So even though he says he wasn't fighting for the sake of humanity, he actually was because everything he has done as commander was beneficial to humanity. Even though the idea of proving his father's theory was the driving force of his actions, he has inadvertently been fighting for the sake of humanity from the beginning. And is that really a bad thing? Of course Erwin will benefit from retrieving the information because it will validate everything his father theorized (and maybe give him closure on his death), but all of humanity will be benefiting as well. The prosperity of the human race is dependent solely on whatever is in that basement so it's vital that the humans have it in their grasp.
Of course Erwin's guilt will be heavy on him if he gets to live, but when he finally discovers whats in the basement, he will be giving their deaths meaning. Just like he said in his speech in chapter 80, "It is up to us to give meaning to those soldiers, deaths. ...The only ones capable of paying respect to them, are we, the living. We too, shall all die here today, and entrust those next in line with the same duty of giving meaning to us!"
If Armin dies, then Eren will still have Mikasa and all of his other friends. Who'll Levi have? It's pretty apparent that Erwin was the most important person in Levi's life. Levi has known Erwin for the longest time and they know each other better than anyone else. The relationship between Levi and Erwin can't even be compared to the relationships he has with Eren, Armin, and Mikasa. So your excuse for letting Erwin die is that Levi is an adult and should just deal with it? No matter who receives the injection, it won't be fair. Armin does have potential, but he's just a kid. He broke down crying and threw up when he had to kill someone who was about to kill Jean. He has crumbled under pressure in the past which is why Erwin is needed. He has the experience necessary to lead the victory of the human race.
I think Mikasa has a death wish if she wants to go toe to toe with Levi. He'll destroy her. I think people are referring to the first panel on page 39. If you look closely, it looks like Levi has tears welling up in his eyes.
this isn't your bias talking imo it's your shipper side talking. armin is as valuable as well, if it weren't for him more losses would've taken place but it was him who thought of having eren close up the breach with the rock and he also figured out the identity of the female titan.
oh and one more thing remember how isayama said something about eren/armin not being the same friends as before? armin would have to be alive in order for that to happen...
you'll hate mikasa for being a "reckless idiot" but hasn't levi been one since the last 3 chapters? -_-
You can think what you want, but I came to the conclusion I did after pondering the situation objectively. I considered the pros and cons of saving Erwin and Armin. Like I said before (I'm not sure if you read my previous posts), the final decision on who will get the injection is not going to be fair. It's a grim situation, but a decision has to be made. Also, Levi was the one left with the responsibility of using the injection on someone, so the decision should ultimately be his.
I wouldn't say that Armin is as valuable as Erwin. Erwin has been the commander of the survey corps for years and has used his ingenuity to completely reform it. He has taken a lot of risks that could have cost him his life, but he went through with them anyway for the sake of humanity. I'll admit that Armin shows promise, but it makes no sense to choose a novice over a seasoned veteran like Captain Erwin. It would be too much of a risk.
I'm not sure what you're referring to, so a link would be helpful. I'm not assuming that Erwin is going to get to live, I'm just stating my opinion on why I think he should be the one to live.
How has Levi been acting like a reckless idiot? He was only doing what Erwin told him to. Erwin is Levi's superior, so he doesn't really have a choice.
I agree cheesehead. They don’t need someone that has potential when everyone is going to be dead in a second because shit is hitting the fan right now, not tomorrow, not 10 years from now. People don't have time to be Armin's cheerleader so he can come up with a plan while dodging giant cannibals. Yes, he has come up with some plans but someone always has to hold his hand. He doesn't have the confidence yet to lead 100% on his own, which makes him a not that great of a choice. If it comes down to it, Levi should take it for himself. Forget everyone. With titan power, Levi could probably kill the titan 10x before the titan hits the ground. I vote for Levi. Lol.
Thank you for your response! I don't know why people find it so hard to understand that Erwin is the better choice due to the circumstances going on in the here and now. I would also like to add that Levi was the one given the responsibility of injecting someone with the serum, so the decision is ultimately his.
I actually theorized that Levi was going to inject himself in order to defeat the titans, but he manged to defeat them without it because he's such a badass (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
Jesus... I have never bawled this hard while reading a manga before. Erwin was my favorite character and I'm absolutely devastated that he's gone T__T I just pray that Levi survives the sticky situation that he's in. It also breaks my heart knowing that Erwin was the fist person Levi thought to use the injection on </3
Kisa and Yukina are starting to become my favorite couple. I love how honest they are with each other and how they discuss their issues/concerns in order to keep their relationship healthy. Even though they don't see each other that often, it just makes the time that they do spend together even more special ヾ(❀╹◡╹)ノ~
As a side note, I love their sexual chemistry. Kisa is a uke who is not shy about what makes him feel good and Yukina is a virile seme who is eager to please. The dirty talk in this chapter was definitely a bonus too. I hope this become a trend in future chapters ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
"It was sweet and warm and moist just like the inside of Haru" I thought that was really cute for some reason (≧∀≦)
