I think this was supposed to be more of a prophecy things than a reincarnation story.
She gets a prophecy of a girl called Fiona, she sees all the hard work she’s done, her personality and her feelings on certain matters. She watches as she gets betrayed and murdered by her cousin that she cherished.
That’s how the story should’ve been at the beginning then the rest would’ve made sense.
Plus looking at Fiona’s attitude and personality now I don’t thinks she’d ever be fit for the ruler position, something close to that but not that. It true she loves her people but I think she would be better off working as a sort of royal general.
