Yes Japanese society and the pressures of a certain role you're to fulfill are valid concerns. But idk maybe the mangaka would've well worded the whole scenario better if they had more time or pacing because but it just felt a little too shallow and something just used to spice up the series.
Honestly as a person I was heartbroken once but I could blame that on hormones and stupidity, I can't imagine being torn apart if I consciously and actively began to trust and give love to someone. And it really hits hard in this story way more realistically than most others.

I could really get on board the Ijuuin x Yuu ship but this start sets some concerns up already that I hope can be resolved. Mostly Ijuuin seemingly still in love with Takahashi and just loving the idea of a fan. I also hope that Yuu's personality keeps a balance between his usual self because that blushing seemed a little uncharacteristic (I thought he would hide it more)
