This was super good, but ya that ending doesn't really fit into the story. It's not realistic to forgive rape and kidnapping just like that. I think a sad ending would've suited it more but oh well, still a great read ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

Honestly I think it’s more about settling and compromise. Both of them tortured each other and played a role in severe trauma In eachothers lives, And have gone on to feel miserable and alone and broken. and with that have both become the only people that each other can find solace in, the only people who that can understand each other , and the only people that make them feel not so alone.

Like Dohyun's wrongings (which happened when he was a teen, a teen from abusive family, often going hungry, with no support) are incomparable with Sungho's. He made mistakes, he was selfish at times... But it was portrayed rather clearly Sungho's was obsessive from the very start. He was the one who introduced sex to their relationship. He was the one who contacted Dohyun when they started to drift apart etc. He was the one who called their relationship disgusting and didn't communicate that he felt uncomfortable about some things.

Not to say that isn’t true, but you can’t change how someone perceived abuse and trauma. Tho incomparable I’m certain ways, the fact still remains that they both caused severe trauma in each other’s lives. Your views on the sexual exploitation to sungho is a bit victim blamey. Sungho certainly loved dohyun but he never really wanted a sexual relationship. He only gave in to a sexual relationship because he was desperate to be with dohyun. And dohyun was (in the beginning) most definitely exploiting sungho. He knew he would do anything to make him stay, so he used it to his own advantage . The point being, at the end of the day, in a shitty world where nothing works in either of their favors, eachothers company is all they have. And that’s why they chose to be together

In chapter 63 Sungho definitely realized that he lied to himself about what really went down with Doyhun in the past. He on his own accord admits he was paranoid and misconstrued his feelings with reality . Now for him all that its left is extreme guilt over acting out a revenge over a situation he mostly created in his head. He now understands that what he did to Dohyun is unforgivable.

Sungho is just mentally disturbed, his mind created a twisted scenario that is far removed from what really happened with Dohyun in the past.
Dohyun is guilty mostly of of being an emotionally unavailable/distant teenager. Yes, sometimes Dohyun actions could be manipulative like for ex. giving Sungho's the silent treatment, but, tbh who hasn't done that from time to time when u are upset? Not saying is right, but, this is a quite common immature behavior in relationships.
Plus Dohyun had his reasons for being distant w others, if u notice everyone important in his life had screwed and abandoned him... so, of course he is gonna be afraid of being too emotionally invested in someone.
Another point that ppl make is that Dohyun somehow manipulated Sungho into sex, but it's important to notice Dohyun never once forced Sungho into doing anything sexual. He always have him options. Sungho was the one who initiated the sexual relationship and he is the one who kept using sex as means to keep Dohyun attached to him because in his mind that was the only way.
He didn't communicate he is uncomfortable with that which he understood in the end he didn't even mind the sex, it was mostly internalized prejudice.

Yep agree! THIS IS NOT A HAPPY ENDING. It's not about giving the characters a break. It's just sad that Donhyun, now has Stockholms syndrom, and PTSD and who knows what else because of what was done to him, it's sad that people are saying this is a happy ending. They both need serious mental health treatment. I feel bad for both of them. This relationship they want to start, will be one of suffering. Even at the end of the last chapter, donhyun admits he is still the same person, as before and the other ML has borderline personality disorder. No way he is ready for a romantic relationship, at least a healthy one. Why do you think the author didn't write anymore? Because, if you go by how the story and characters are at the moment, they are both still very sick. I repeat it's not a happy ending. That makes me sad for both of them. I know it's not real life. But the writer made this story with, things that actually happen in real life. I cried for both characters, and hoped for some sort of happiness, but this ending, is not it. It's a start of tons of suffering for both.

Can’t argue with that. You make a solid point.
