Snownubes

Honestly I was really excited going into this since most people seem to agree that this is an all time favourite… but I’m disappointed. Wasn’t into it from the beginning but thought I’d give it a chance. Currently at chapter 75 and still not a fan.

Good:
The idea of her not being a goody to shoes is great and also the idea that she actually wants to go home. Like her backstory is not some sad story that drives her to loving the new place immediately.

Bad:
However I despise the execution. I don’t feel attached to any of the protagonists and I just don’t like their romance. No build up in my opinion and honestly still toxic.

Even when she had the chance to go back home he didn’t want her to. And that’s fine and understandable. However he was describing her as an object. Going as far as thinking to harm her in order to keep her with him and finally deciding to threatening his own life so she would need to call for help aka wouldn’t be able to go home…

and it’s not that extreme the whole time but I do get that same vibe the whole time from their “love story”.
Also I’m not a fan of the world building. In the sense that I sometimes got the feeling that their love story is the only thing being shown. Which in itself can be excused or even enioyable but not something I’d call an unforgettable story.

An example: When he was away for three days. We didn’t see him fighting. We (readers aka me in this case) didn’t felt the anxiety of him being wounded and attacked. It was jut told not shown aka the opposite of what makes good stories. And even if you go with the approach of showing her experience - I’d like it to be more than her just getting the seal, going into the room with the mighty people and immediately being overthrown and then immediately being resolved. Like huh ??!!! Wasn’t this supposed to be the big fight. The emperess having the right cards for the first time and nothing really happens??!!!

Anyways if you’ve made it this far much appreciated. Just had to comment since this conversation is currently quite one sided.

For all the fans I do however would like to point out what I enjoyed. I liked that she was competent and didn’t back down from confrontations. However there could’ve also been a build up ╮(￣▽￣)╭.

Anywaaayys I enjoyed the confrontation with that queen of a different land. The one that accused her of adultry (however you spell this). That was cool. But in the end also quite short hehe

I know there aren’t probably as many chapters on English WEBTOON. But come on guys. I get it if it’s an only pay series or if it’s a finished one where you gotta wait and then they expire I even understand it somewhat if it’s a series where you just gotta wait for like 90% of the Comic without it expiring. But this is literally nothing and by reading it on WEBTOON you’re able to support the another… these kind of uploads make me angry
