In general omegaverse is an alternative universe where everyone can get pregnant because of a secondary sexuality classed alpha, beta and omega. Omegas produce pheromones in a heat cycle, which attracts the other two classes and are generally persecuted because of it.
Apparently it has been introduced to Japan from an English language fan fiction about werewolves, hence the alpha, beta and omega terminology was adopted from real life wolf pack hierarchical structure.
The setting and particulars are determined by the author of the work and is normally explained at the beginning of the series.
