now I'm just wondering if mc's step mom and mc's dad are really in love or they're just like business partners since they're trio team/friends with mc's birth mom
I think they're like best friends that got together because of the grief they felt for their loved friend. But from what I understood they were always married, I mean if you notice, the MC isn't the oldest sibling, he has other brothers and sisters that are only half, because they are his step-mother's children even tho they are older than him. So what I conclude from that is that they were always friends, the MC's father married the MC's mother out of love and married the MC's step-mother as a political marriage, it seems like something normal that would happen in the world this is set up in. Even if this happened they were all friends that loved each other, the only difference is the mother had a true love for the father and father also loved her, while their relationship to the step-mother was more of a platonic love between friends that got married and got what they needed from each other. I do think the step-mother probably used this mariage to get independence from her awful family.
