If I can explain it better, I think in the past, Seungwoo saw Joonho murder his cat Winter, and that messed him up so badly that he couldn’t bring himself to accept it so he “rewrote” his own memories.
I think the trauma damaged him so much to the point where he couldn’t even keep his memories of winter being a cat, so he convinced himself it was a dog, and then he didn’t have to remember any of the horrible things that happened to his cat.
Now that Mr. Cat came into his life the exact same way as Winter, it’s making him remember.
