Honestly I can't respect this scanlation group enough for translating Madarame Hiro's mangas. It's really well done. After translating one manga myself, I can't imagine how long this one would take. Cleaning, translating, typesetting, proofreading... And to keep up with the fonts and sizes... phew, it's already hard just reading them. I'm already struggling to keep up with all this chaotic text in this mangaka's stories.

nah... I don't think I'll ever reread this story... one time was certainly enough.

In the moment it's really one of my favourites. It's gonna be one of the first mangas I would buy on the spot, even in Japanese. I absolutely loved the characters, the story and the art! Everything was super perfect, like, I couldn't even go to the next page like normal, when I was finished. I needed to look at the art more thoroughly, because it was just so great, I needed to look at every detail. Every single panel, expression, word... ah, it felt really realistic.

YESSSSS I agree soooo much !
I always go back and read the sentence and look at the art twice while I read it !

stoic faces everywhere haha
still the art work is something you can fall in love with

my god I think I liked the translator's notes at the end more than the manga. "shoujo until they slap their dicks out" loool

Does anyone know if there are really such universities where they offer a graphic course like this? I mean comics, digital design, storyboards, etc.
I've never heard of such outside of Japan.

    Fanelle May 14, 2017 10:04 pm

Of course, that's what art schools are for ;)
In France for instance you can do this in private or public schools, as well as some universities. Then each one of them have their own specialities.

I think once I see one of those schools in a documental though don't know if it were in Japan the only thing I remember is that it was in an oriental country

    Anonymous May 15, 2017 8:37 am

Yeah. It's called Sequential Arts. They teach storyboarding, comics, character design and stuff like that. I think the most famous one in US is SCAD. There's also some other schools in europe (like Animation Workshop, under Graphic Storytelling name I think?)

    Suzume May 15, 2017 3:15 pm

Yeah, I already knew that there are art universities and I've already looked into them, but I've never heard of a university that has a course specially for comics.
I've already heard of the "manga university" in Tokyo but never of something like that existing overseas.
Thanks anon for the information! You really helped me out with it! I'll check scad out.

Urgh I feel so guilty for reading this and even more guilty for liking it ლ(´ڡ`ლ)
But honestly, isn't yankee-kun still a high school boy? Wearing his gakuran, uwa
Also, what's up with all those new yaoi with these super hot but kinda creepy semes hohoho!
It changed much since last summer, there's so much new good stuff with amaaaazing art styles

Suzume May 11, 2017 10:32 pm

For me a good art style is number one priority when reading a comic and, as anyone can see, in this case it's not exactly about pretty faces. But!! that's in no way negative. As an artist myself I can see this art style's good points. And it's really the fast action scenes and the extreme expression (especially the boy's in vol 6-7 against nesuwhatevs).
At first, I was a bit prepossessed against the art style and it's wide big eyes (particularly frost boy and his sis/love interest ....) but it kinda grow on me (not the eyes but the rest, I still can't stand them' big eyes). But honestly, this webtoons strength is NOT the art style. It it's story. Which I completely got hooked on and read in one day. The characters are great too. and oh, oh man, those plot twists!!!
Even though this story has quite a few... well, I'm not sure if I should call them "plot holes", since it's just so much new stuff and constructs at once which didn't get explained yet, which lets the story look a tad weak in the end, but I guess I just need to read the sequel first....
all in all I recommend this story to readers who like espers/dimensions/amazing fighting scenes/tenseness/anti-government-movements/social criticism, etc.
it kind of inspired me, too.

This mangaka... "you didn't think it could get any worse? I'll open your eyes to a new world"
I know a weird comparison, but she's like the R.R.Martin of yaoi with only worse getting rape scenes as theme

    ATel1 June 29, 2016 7:28 am

That was very accurately put. Hot damn. O.o

    GDsenpai June 29, 2016 10:16 pm

Harada is like the Japanese lovechild of George R.R. Martin and the author of Fifty Shades of Grey.
