I think the problem is that we still think in overly strict categories when it comes to sexuality and that's where a lot of common tropes, misunderstandings and sometimes just painfully irritating ideas come from.

The same with gender-identity (speaking of, scientifically there are over 3000 genders simply based on the different shapes of the sex-defining 'X'- or 'Y'-Chromosome...).
