I like how webtoons nowadays do not cater to "bl tropes" but create storylines with fleshed out characters and scenarios. It makes it enjoyable to read.

Of course expecting everything to be perfect is way too utopian, although I enjoy those kind of stories as well.

I love how much effort these artists and authors put into creating strong backgrounds for these characters which explains a lot of gheir present behaviours.

In reality, the way I see it....these kind of dysfunctional families are way more common than we can imagine. Not all people are cut out to be parents, they do the job of getting admission for them and all that but are not very emotionally available for them, which kind of bounces back in them when they get older and they crave company.
It's sad but pretty honest representation of a lot of families.
