I find it frustrating to see people complaining about manga characters being even a tiny bit negative. Like let the story develop??

We all love green flags and "morally pure, ethical, healthy" manga characters. But let's be real, they are as rare as a unicorn irl

I think sometimes readers forget that manga characters are built the same way a storybook character is built. Sometimes they are intelligent, sometimes they are genuinely good, sometimes they are greedy and sometimes they are just pure evil.

That's all.

I feel so weirded out when ppl complain about stuff like that and also shame other readers for simply reading it. As if they feel superior shaming people as if everything is a kink. When will people realize that not everthing is abt sex, not everyone is a pervert, 90% of readers are simply....readers.

While it is true that trigger warnings/disclaimers are VERY essential, it is also necessary to be atleast respectful to the artists.

If the artwork is bad or the story is subpar, or the character development is sloppy it is absolutely necessary for readers to complain abt it.

Remember the magaka of Shutline? They improved their work so much compared to their previous releases.
If the story is downright CRIMINAL or obscene to the extent that it is WRONg to even portray stuff like this it is absolutely necessary to report it and get it off the internet.
However this is not what I am talking about.

I find people complaining about misunderstandings, top-bottom dynamics, femininity in men, slow burn, some people being realistically a jerk, some readers are just misogynists in disguise.

Like what the hell is going on??? Is this the effect of being chronically online that people forget what people are like and start looking for idealism in manga??
