Buying some time for what? Because if she didn't commit suicide, the ML will still bring her unharmed to the emperor. I mean what's the purpose of doing that? I know this is not real, but stabbing oneself there's a possibility of dying from infection or blood loss. FL's decision defies logic. At first I thought she's gonna use it as a leverage to make a deal with the ML, but nothing happened, she didn't say anything about her plan until the moment she's done talking to the emperor. Btw, I'm not angry, I'm just really trying hard to understand thr FL's reasoning, and I hope it's just a mistranslation because I don't want to drop this, the art is so beautiful.

i read from someone who has read the novel say it was because she needed the ml to stay next to her to guarantee her safety there. since the emperor ordered to bring her to ml's empire unharmed, she stabbed herself so that the ml will stay with her to stop her from committing self-harm
I see and thus creating the ultimate excuse as to how to get the duke stay by her side 24/7 which in other people's eyes looks like duke is infatuated with her = pregnancy claim seems possible. (However this plan relays on the fact that duke doesn't deny the claim, I guess she believed that he too would benefit enough from having a "pregnant" partner -> emperor wouldn't pressure duke about getting an heir)
The art is good but kind of stiff and the panelling is not smooth. I couldn't really feel the emotions on the character's expression.
I've read the novel, it's kind of frustrating. Because of the ML's position, he was raised to be proud and not to bow down to anyone ( I think all of this stemmed from bad parenting lol). He gets everything he wants, nobody thought him about humility, so when he met the fl and didn't get her something in him clicked. He didn't understand what he was feeling. He didn't realize it was love and thought he was just obsessed with the FL and all of his feelings will disappear once he get sick of her. But it didn't happen so it became more complicated for him. His love became so twisted and became like poison to her. I was about to drop the novel because it was toxic, but I was invested into it. And I'm glad I didn't drop it. There's a character development especially for the ML, it was slow but there is. He love her so much that he didn't let her go and became like poison to her but his love for her also made him realize what sacrifices he can do just for her, he let her go and made sure that nothing can take away their baby from her. I don't want to go into much details because I don't want to spoil it.
All of the characters are imperfect, so imperfect that they felt so real. I think that's what made this manhwa interesting for me.

I thought this was another cliché isekai story. I was about to drop this after the ML kidnapped the FL and locked her up in the magic tower, but I am so glad I didn't. I didn't like the ML at first because he's kind of toxic, he thinks he can wrap the FL around his finger, but we have a badass FL who's not a pushover and has a backbone. Story is 10/10. Highly recommend.(▰˘◡˘▰)
I just don't get it, what was she doing in the orphanage with her mother? For what reason did they go there? Because the fl is so shocked to see the ml in front of her. And how did the ml's parents found the og fl? I know the plot is cliché, but it could have potential if only the plot was presented in a way that the readers can understand.
I think I've read too much Isekai genre that these kinds of plot holes irks me.(〜￣△￣)〜
I think it wasn't explained well or possibly not translated correctly but, here's what I've understood so far:
- MC is Arwyn
- FL is Rietta
- ML is
Nobles will go do charity events or provide "support" to Orphanages in order to look good within the public eye. In some cases, tax benefits can also raise from this. However, some Orphanages are fronts for human trafficking or the slave market. They were at the Orphanage to offer "support" and the ML who was kidnapped and awaiting auction was there. FL saw him, realized it was him and pounced.
The novels FL goes back in time and knows where ML is. So FL tells the family to go pick up their son which just so happens to be the night they pick MC and ML up. They were looking in the area FL said to check.
So now they've unofficially adopted FL and MC.

It wasn't even mentioned that they were doing a charity event in the orphanage, it was just like poof, they are at the orphanage and FL/MC is surprised to meet the OG ML there.
