I hate literally every character in here except Lau
Season 2 has been 90% backstory and 10% main plot thus far if I wanted that I would've just read Naruto
The "Everybody was in on it all along" thing was cliche
Dropped Ch 63
I get the artstyle is great and all, but I'm confused why I have yet to see a comment pointing out that the last 13 chapters have been nothing but backstory. Does nobody else have an issue with that?

i'll admit the backstories in the middle of s2 (chen's & yajin's especially) did feel tedious and stretched out. I get why you're frustrated but the backstory (especially the one we're currently in) is really important to understand the main plot and why the characters do the things they do in the present. Pretty much everyone's actions in the present make more sense knowing what happens in this current backstory. Also this current backstory introduces a whole bunch of lore that answers a lot of questions, for example it basically tells you who the actual bad guys are. I wouldn't say its like Naruto or Demon Slayer where the backstories only serve to make u feel randomly feel sympathy for the mcs. Here it does actually serve a narrative purpose to further the plot.
if the first season was dedicated to making the audience understand how the characters are a little strange & fucked up in the present, the second season is dedicated to making the audience understand that these characters were not born, but molded into the way they are. and for that u need to know what happened to them in the past. (oml that sounds so cringe when i say it out loud, "monsters arent born but created" ahhh sentence)
Also this is just a side note but the whole "Everybody was in on it" thing, yeah its cliche but i think it was well executed and makes sense for this story ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
sorry for yapping lmao but i had to defend my fav story. i dont think its a perfect story either but the day i stop defending this story is the day i die dammit.

I see, I guess I was just exhausted because when I read came up on this story I thought since 72 chaps were out we made some progress romantically but mope. When I typed this comment out I was extremely pissed cuz I binge-read all of this in a couple of hours which felt wasted.
But yeah, I don't think I would be as mad if they cut Fu Rin's, Alex's, and Milu's backstory from like 4-6 chapters each to 1-3 because it felt like the creator was just looking for reasons to stretch the story more.

yeahhh i get that completely lmao. i think we're in for the long haul with this one tbh because i suspect the mcs won't make romantic progress until the whole zhou family issue gets resolved.
i agree with the cutting the backstories part, the middle of s2 was definitely the low point in the story for me too. u have no idea how it felt to have to wait for updates weekly back then only for it to be another yajin backstory chapter (not to hate on him in particular but yk what i mean)( ̄へ ̄)
the story's definitely picked up now imo because we're getting to the actual plot (even if its in the form of a backstory). when this finishes one day hopefully i encourage u to come back and finish it cuz my gut feeling says itll be good lmao

Bro please the story was pretty good with a questionable relationship PLEASE dont change it to a stalker x victim

exactly. Tai's questionable and stalkerish ways has been pretty much hinted from the start. it's just overshadowed by comedy and the fact that Tian Cai do not have issues with his obsessive tendencies that lead to his manipulative and questionable, stalkerish ways.
besides it's really doubtful it's gonna take a dark route considering the tones of the story after all these 100+ chapters.

I know it's been hinted at, but it's never been confirmed and has always been like a jokey-possessive type thing which I was perfectly fine with. Now that I know he just straight up stalked and took pics of his TEACHER that turns this relationship from kinda weird but fine I guess to just downright creepy.
But I know the authors prolly gonna ignore the red flags and cover it with sex rather than having the uke tell him off for it

I think the same can be said for any kink, honestly. If it's not your thing, regardless of what that "thing" is, and your partner persists/insists on it anyway, then it's toxic. But if you're both fine with it, then it's fine and perfectly healthy. All anyone else can ask is that you keep it to yourselves and don't get innocent bystanders caught up in your shenanigans.
The season ends next chap
