The rules were placed for a reason: to ensure the highest chance of survival for everyone for as long as possible.
If they take that away and kill their protector, won’t they just die along with all the others who rely on this falsified peace?
If they can protect themselves without him, then sure kill him off but if he’s the only chance they’ve got, this is a dumb move
