Shadyyyyyy. Adopted or not, you grew up as siblings for at least 7 years. I'd probably find it more palatable if his parents were sponsoring her for some reason and set a boundary. They just straight up took her in as their kid, established their biological kid is going to be her sibling, and then encourage both of them to get together? Jeez.
She's stuck in a situation with people she has no idea about. Her only recollection of Lucas is his willingness to abandon his "childhood friend". Why does she have to give him the benefit of the doubt when that's all she working with? She could get to know him as a person but again, she's working with the idea of the plot in mind. Would you willingly spend time with someone who, for all you know, hurts and betrays you???
It's why she gets the last few chapters to confirm there are some similarities but not everything is the same. And she gets the time to make a decision about how she's moving forward. She owns up to her shitty behavior and yall still bashing her.
Honestly tho, it's just an easy way to build up her character. None of the readers really know anything about *this* Lucas except for the fact that his long time bestie has been ignoring him for a couple of days. Jeez.
Her mom being okay with someone whose values are unclear using physical discipline on her 3-4 year old daughter is realllllllly sketchy. Like, it's not clear she's using physical discipline in order to enforce good behavior? And her mom telling her to deal with it herself which leads to the only response possible, being helpless to the situation. Only when the male figure comes into the picture, it gets handled??? I try not taking fiction seriously but if this wasn't happy fantasy land where everything gets resolved with no consequences, a kid encountering an adult figure like this in real life is... not good.
Most mangas are typically similar or better than their novel counterparts. This is the first manga I've read where I would suggest to read the novel instead. The manga has somehow made the events in the story even more confusing than it should be. The tone and style changed the characters and events to be unrecognizable.
COMMUNICATION, bless Hotaru for being able to communicate. I like Hananoi's character. There has always been prince like male leads, but they're never given any background or any depth on why they are the way they are. Its so refreshing to read something sweet but with characters that have to deal with themselves, beyond the relationship. I am here for it!
This really shouldn't be in the Smut tag. It should be "adults having s*x" tag. There's nothing explicit about it beyond how many times it's mentioned the past two dozen chapters. But yeah, this story is so bizarre. Even as a m/f trash romance reader, this is a convoluted story. Even if you forget about the rape situation, this couple is a convenient strangers scenario. How do you not know about her mom's health issues if you've been married for so long? And while male lead has no idea about her past relationship with his nephew, she has a clear idea who she's in and been in a relationship with. Lol, drama queen that the author wants to convey victim? Ehhhhhhhh
The cutestttttttt. Yamada, what a champ. (¬‿¬ ) ლ(´ڡ`ლ) ヾ(☆▽☆)
