I remember reading this author's other work isso Koe ga Nakattara, both stories really delve into expressing the human character in a bit of a painful and yet gentle way. I really love it when authors share about these kinds of things in their stories since it's such a difficult subject to convey to others emotionally and rationally.

I'm honestly very surprised at how balanced this webtoon has been, BDSM can get SUPER TOXIC as we've all seen a lot of in certain other webtoons....cough.

From a writing point of view I think the author set this up well FOR THE STORY, they are both having sexual intercourse for the first time, and even with all the practice and learning they could have done before hand. It's honestly really hard to prepare to share a moment like this with perfect control. I am not saying it's unavoidable, you should listen to your partner and care for them.
But for purely plot reasons I think this is mainly used so that Courtney has more motivation to punish him.
