Hey, many people seems to be confused about chapter 3, but honestly, I think the misunderstanding might come from the translation. In Japanese it is often that characters and speech-form may take on double meaning, especially when talking formally. A lot of the language is based on the 'how to be polite' but carry the meaning behind the words WITHOUT ever being direct about things. It is often up to the listener to decipher the true meaning of very obscure words. I think that's what happen there. Riku was all speaking in subtext thinking that if Takashi liked him, he would immediately connect the link, while Takashi was just probably being very practical, and took things literally instead of the subtext Riku was trying to say.
Logic but what about when he commented that he would marry and his wife would be the luckiest (it's about his cooking's skills)

I understand that. I think I was pretty crude with my words, but I didn't meant it as a critic of this story, which is obviously a parody of the original. I am aware that there would be no story if he went to his mother directly. I just find it funny that the author depicted the mother that way. Because, it does underline an inconsistency in the universe. It's not a problem, especially not in a parody. I was just pointing it out :)
