Thanks! I didn't read through the comments because I thought the first page was mostly comments about the ending or recent chapters, so I skipped the rest to avoid being spoiled.
I believe that Gabriel, he addressed in his letter as his brother and friend is a priest, since it’s a letter of confession. Theo probably left the priesthood or seminary in England and returned to America and started working different jobs and then at the gallery at some point and a took on a new identity. Many aspects of the story are ambiguous and left to open interpretation.
… I may be wrong about many things.
Author is taking their sweet time for the actual plot reveal, and is stingy in revealing the MC’s backstory. We get flashbacks but not enough. She has a goal, what is it? Put Joshua on the throne and then retire? She wanted to build that railroad… what is happening with her own ambitions or was it just to fulfill her supposedly dead husband’s dream? or keep her status of nobility or something else? And what was his dream? Maybe I need to reread. Husband is alive for sure…
Who does she really love? Her husband or the ML? She seems to be having mental issues or is it grief? her anguish and outbursts of wanting to join her husband in death, pledging her undying love for him, does make it look like she loves him or is it an act? Were they just friends or was his relationship with her insidious in nature? and then there is the ML…. She definitely loves him but tries hard to push him away.
The ML is backing the duke but what is his plan? I think he’s definitely cooking something behind the scenes, I don’t think he’s just blindly following the duke. He loves the MC or is obsessed with her…it did seem like revenge was his priority in the beginning but it’s not anymore. I think she did groom him if we trust the flashbacks… her taking the reign and telling him he belongs to her, they both were kids/teens though. The reveal for their backstory will happen probably when something bad happens, like an attempt on her life and he is injured, on the brink of death while saving her…
the game of politics is dirty they are playing well…For an original story this is pretty good so far… I just wish there was more backstory… hopefully it’s coming soon… it’s already more than 50 chapters and so frustrating to see her want him only to push him away…
There is so much going on it’s hard to wrap round my head, the monsters, the dead husband, the past, the group that’s revolting, Joshua’s obsession with her, her daughter, did they address her leg problems? And what is the ultimate goal?…
One thing is certain, once the backstory is revealed it’s probably almost the end… so let’s enjoy the frustration and angst while it lasts xD I like stories that make you think and if the author fuck’s it up I’m out…thanks for reading my long post…

The emperor looks like a sex starved zombie … those eyes creep me out, looks aside he’s definitely a psycho and I hope this doesn’t have tons of rape, but it does look like it will… he’s already started….the plot to kill the emperor is already in the works… I think he he may get injured during the hunt, or fake being hurt just to keep the uke bound to him…until his real personality is revealed..
…I just hope that there will be more plot, I’m getting tired of non consensual sex on repeat, such a turn off.
Just to point out to the note by the translator in the current chapter- whoever insulted your translation and scans should FO or do it themselves!
I’m sorry to be so crude but the effort the translator has put in is incredible… thank you for your hard work so far and I hope you continue to translate in the future and not be discouraged.
Woojae is hiding something about his parents murder, I don’t know whether he killed his parents or not but to cover it up for this long and then suddenly reveal it to the world is very strange. I’m still not sure of his motives, whether it’s revenge or some obsession with Heewons family, his mom. There is nothing else he’s involved with except from her. I’m too lazy to make a timeline of events, I’ll just wait for the story to unfold. I hope the author gives us a great reveal.
