While I don't think that romantic relationships should ever be that serious of a matter I, overall, agree with you. There's barely anything problematic in the prequel. Yeah, we feel for Natsurou because the author has depicted him sympathetically and the character is such that would be more endearing than any other character in this story if they were real people. People are outraging over the cheating thing as if they're doing it out of principle, but if only the writer had put in a few panels of the ex-uke sad and depressed that his boyfriend wasn't spending a lot of time with him or some other such tripe, these people would have been cheering him on to cheat.
And what difference does it make if he cheated before breaking up, instead of the other way around? In fact that's the smarter way to do things. You explore your options while sticking with your backup. You don't quit your current job before looking for a new one. You don't move out of your current place of residence before you have decided on a new place.
There were only two options in the prequel, Natsurou and his ex endgame, or his ex and his ex's ex endgame. And people are missing the fact that they are angry out of second lead syndrome, not really the idea of cheating in general. Because as I said, with only a couple of minor modifications to the same story, the writer could've had all of them rooting for the ex to give up the Natsurou relationship. We just feel that Natsurou was a better person and more deserving that the other seme, which is fair. I mean, if your friend IRL has those two options, you'd really hope they pick Natsurou option. But if they went with the other candidate, you'd facepalm yourself, heave a sigh of disappointment, and moan over what an idiot your buddy is.
