Yeah. I’m not going to get into the shipping stuff but there’s no canon romance/endgame. There’s plenty of found family dynamics though. It’s a story that about trying to understand others and wanting to be understood, about saving others and being saved yourself. Kim Dokja is definitely one of the most compelling and (sometimes way too) relatable main characters I’ve ever come across. At first it might seem like your typical apocalypse power fantasy and Kim Dokja does literally become a god but it’s not, /precisely/ because it’s Kim Dokja.
He isnt that overpowered actually .There are stronger characters in case of skills and strength but kim dokja’s strength lies more like in his shrewdness how he manages to come out alive in every single unpredicted situation ... i love him (≧∀≦)

Uhhh rather than saying instead of using one over the other....they’re not really interchangeable, like “suki” is used in pretty much all situations because it’s...like a catch-all? type of phrase, though depending on the context it generally is pretty laden with romantic connotations
But using “ai,” /especially/ when when the context is romantic. Shit, that’s /loaded/ with meaning. It’s not just “oh yeah, I like you too,” or even “I love you

-I love you!!!!!” Using “ai” w/n a romantic context is basically like “you’re the only one for me, you’re the love of my life, my soulmate, my one greatest love...” etc. it’s hella serious!!!!!!!! so like. What Kazushi is saying by going with 「愛してるよ」is a LOT. And the “yo” at the end of that is also pretty important! Using “yo” at the end of a sentence adds nuance, implying that whatever the sentence is about is new information for whomever it’s intended! That’s not always the case, since it’s often used just to add emphasis, but I think chapter 3 already made it abundantly clear how Kazushi feels about Tatsumi, even if Tatsumi himself is fucking clueless. In this case, I’d say the “yo” is both for emphasis and as a “-you know,” kind of thing.
This ones the winner for this year’s “This Manga Is Good!” rankings in the female-oriented genres category so I’m really looking forward to seeing how it’ll go! first chapter is looking pretty great already, especially the end. Nina is a badass lol
Look if I’m going to be completely honest this story gives me Big Heavy Mixed Feelings and it’s definitely a lot to chew on and there are definitely parts that made made me go “uh, nah” HOWEVER y’all do realize that the author of the original novel...is a Gay Man, writing from His Own Damn Experiences growing up Gay in Japan, right. I’ll repeat that, Asahara Naoto is an Out Gay Man whose Gay Life Experience is the foundation for some of the world views that are portrayed in this story. I can completely understand why some ppl may be uncomfortable with some of the stuff that’s portrayed but immediately slapping this with labels like “fetishized” and “unrealistic” and the like is uhhhhhh kind of pushing your own biases and worldview to front while disregarding real experiences that queer ppl in Japan and other conservative Asian countries go through. Also, just because a fictional story HAS portrayals of certain taboo elements in it doesn’t mean that it’s condoning or romanticizing these elements, & if you think it does you should examine why you think so.
