There's a very interesting theory by tastytoast below in the comments. They said it could be a case of fate exchange, nam woori's family mightve done something to exchange fate and fortune of soobin with woori so that he can live a good life. Maybe woori was born with bad fate and his family decided to give all that to the innocent soobin and take his happiness and luck and give to woori. Soobin could've come to know abt it and killed mc each time to take the stolen luck back. I also find this theory very plausable coz we see soobin again and again mention how his life is in ruins specifically becoz of woori. Op also mentioned how we see woori's grandma asking woori to always keep that ring with him, maybe that is the source of it all.

woah that seems really plausible they might have just gone and guessed the whole plot! does explain a lot of soobins behaviour.. well i do love morally gray characters regardless and having all your luck robbed from you would break me too ngl

Woah that theory also makes total sense since the 1st chapter literally starts with mc thinking to himself how lucky he is despite not having any special talent. Only having a decent face and a rich family makes his life so smooth-sailing! That grandma is most probably a shaman and she probably knew what mc's future was going to be like so she could've made a luck stealing ring that stole soobin's luck (since he was a kid around the same age as mc). Mc probably wasn't as lucky before he met soobin and that's why his family didn't let him leave his house to keep him away from harm. If you know you know, mc's only friend in childhood was soobin and after meeting him, mc started to steal his luck (even though he didn't know anything about it). Soobin probably had a suspicion regarding this matter because his life suddenly turned to hell after meeting mc. Also after done stealing his luck their family moved away from there and maybe that's the reason why in this life, he's not as lucky as his previous life (he keeps on saying "This never happened to me before, I was always so lucky"...
