rapist was bullied by ryou when they were children, and in order to enact his revenge, he trains in martial arts, manipulates ryou, and then repeatedly rapes and blackmails ryou. after all of this, he falls in love with ryou and confesses to him (never apologizing and never showing any remorse for his previous actions).
and somehow, ryou is in love with the rapist as well?? huh? make it make sense.
all this manga does is romanticize and fetishize rape. the fact that rape is common in this genre isn’t an excuse. let’s not normalize rape!
and just objectively speaking, the plot is nonsensical and inconsequential; the characters are shallow, one dimensional, and have zero character development; and the characters’ motivations themselves, the driving factor for this entire plot, are simply unrealistic. even if rape wasn’t present, this manga would be totally garbage.
kimin is fucking insane, holy shit. i didn’t think it was going to be this bad going in, but it really is that bad.
i really hope kyuyeon doesn’t end up with him in the end (file a restraining order!), or at the very least, kimin gets lots and lots of therapy,
