I recommend Koimonogatari! It's a great, wholesome story with an eye-opening perspective on coming-of-age from the perspective of a gay student within high school. If you like stories with a unique vibe like this manga, I recommend reading koimonogatari for sureヾ(☆▽☆)

If you don't mind reading stories with more depth and layers and not just about simple boys love, i'd recommend California Monogatari. It's from the same author of Banana Fish, so you know it's very plot heavy. Its depiction of youth is very raw and realistic :D
god i remember the first time reading that ending it was like i won at lottery or something lol.
this is still one of my fave mangas ever. came back to reread it again and it def is not perfect, has some pacing issues, rushed sequences, and questionable "woke" themes. but tye characters are so amazing and there still are a LOT of great messages here.

OMG THIS IS A GAY SMUT VERSION OF FRUITS BASKET I LOVE IT SO MUCH
literally every single zodiac and character is likeable and the story is culture rich and incredible too like it's not just an out of the blue concept there really are real life cultural references all over. and the plot is also layered, there are so many things happening throughout the entire 12 chapters that it felt like it was 50 chapters.
personally my fave is sousuke bc i love guys who are dog like ヽ(`Д´)ﾉ ( cheerful, honest, and affectionate) and kaede ( he seems so cool yet gentle ╮(￣▽￣)╭)
