This is pretty much what I think a modern AU of a Xiao Xingchen and Xue Yang love story would turn out to be. That must be why I like it so much already !
Can someone please help me understand what is going on? I'm lost and the plot is confusing me
So what's happening is that the main character keeps going to the past whenever she dies and itsthe first moment her fiancé meets her little sister.
That meeting is when the little sister and fiancé always fall for eachother. Even knowing that he is in love with the little sister, the main character tries to make her husband/fiancé love her or not love the sister at least.
She fails every time (so far) and is beginning to feel hate rather than love for him and her sister.
We basically have been seeing how terribly he has been treating her even when she was pregnant, even when she was obedient and even when she acted like the most loving person. And it's because he is too deeply in love with the sister.
It seems like now the main character has had enough and wants to stay dead.

She should give getting to know her knight, he seems like a great guy, especially in comparison to the fiancee. I kinda hope she ends up with him. If this swings to the fiancee being with the FL I don't think I can read this. He's been a complete bastard to the poor girl
Same tbh. I don't think there's any saving the husband. Even if he changes for the better, he did still cause her death, pain and torture numerous times.
Nah it gets even worse, the only one who’s stayed on her side, not even her parents, but her knight. And it got him killed so now she feels like she can’t get close to him either, she’s completely alone
Damn... That's just... It kind of reminds me of the start of this manga called Yondome wa Iyana Shi Zokusei Majutsushi. I feel so bad for these people ( ≧Д≦)
I like characters having struggles as it makes them seem more real and relatable, but I don't know if I can take even ten more chapters of maxi being this stuck. Like girl, start getting some courage and just ask for help!!!!

Well I understand that, I'd never say or think that of a real person, but the chapter by chapter updates make me a little more impatient then if I was just sitting down reading this I guess. It makes this story seem to stretch on and drag and though I like it, I may have to abstain from reading until it's complete. I fear I might lose interest otherwise, and I really like this story so far.
I get that you’re frustrated with maxi but shes a character whose suffering from anxiety and ptsd (possibly depression as well). Right now we’re seeing her struggle with herself after escaping an abusive household. Years of abuse, especially from childhood, is going to be hard to overcome and asking for help is extremely difficult. Even though she knows everyone is nice and would help her if she asked; she doesn’t want to be looked down on or disappoint them. when the story is more progressed, I believe then we can judge her character development.

Hey if there's an opportunity to ship characters, I'll take it! GallianxMephistopheles It's not just based on pure whim, Gallian is sweet, driven, interested in demons, and half one himself! It would contrast nicely with Mephisto's personality
Honestly, I don't like when people ship characters together randomly or just cuz.... But at least you have a reason disregarding whether I agree with it or not.

Well, I do ship a lot, I'll admit it, but I wouldn't do it needlessly with characters that clearly hate each other, if it was emotionally/physically abusive or just wouldn't work with only their looks as basis. I really am a fan of opposites attract

she needs a way to move around without being notice so she can achieve her plans. As Veronica, no one will monitor her move since Veronica is a nobody. When she is Elena, she will be famous in the school as the daughter of the duke, so people will take notice of her. not to mention there is probable people reporting back what she is doing.
It was becuase verconica contracted a contagious disease so she needed time to recuperate but since its an important time for her (she is of age) she needs a stand in to show that everything is alright and to stop the rumors abt her sickness as well. Elena was a tool to fulfill that.
veronica was actually poisoned but yeah, she was really ill
it was because veronica has been ill for a quite long time and the duke need a stand in just so she won't lost a position in the high society, since i guess they want to make veronica empress

I really wish that the duke had walked in while Juvel and max were sleeping, and her dream was because she was hearing what her father was going to do to max for being in bed with his little girl. It would've made my day and been amazing
