I think that all the knights were supposed to be loyal to the King ( like how you follow the directions your boss gives, but if its against the companies interests you should report it to a higher up) , but by helping cover up a murder of royalty and taking the tiara, she was not being loyal. Also I think she killed people regardless of if they were allies or not.
I think the difference in a swordsman and a knight, is that the knight had that loyalty and isn't driven by money as much as a swordsman.

Not necessarily. A swordsman is just a person who isn't bound to political obligation. It's sort of faulty to say that money is the focal difference between the two(swordsman and knight). A swordsman can still be bound by honor and loyalty or just work for themselves. They don't have to necessarily be working towards monetary gain.
