they did but the girl was already thinking of disposing marie if she was crowned, i mean how can she become empress when she can't think for herself, and you know the emperor already knows this and even if she became queen he would favor marie then she would get jealous and make attempts on her life, at least form what we have seen she is capable of the sort. honestly i don't like either of them, the queen candidates i mean, both of them cannot even keep their composure in a situation like that, their expressions and mannerisms would give them away immediately it is terrible, i know that marie wants to leave but she should at least pick a sensible person for the throne, being a queen is a lot of responsibility someone that can't even think for her self a little without relying on others is not right for the job at al and i am not saying it is bad to rely on others, but she can't think now imagine marie was a bad cunning person that wanted the throne of her father back, that queen will just listen to her and be used just like that, so she is definitely not right for the throne, she didn't do any research on the country and try to come up with a solution so it is evident that she doesn't care for them, she didn't try to look into the issue and seriously think of a solution with marie she just asked and used marie's answers like that, once marie leaves that if marie leaves and that woman is crowned she would be a puppet empress and the king and the country would be in danger of the nobles that would use her. wow this is so long i'm ranting but i understand that there was a contract but what that woman is doing is taking advantage of marie and that is not right, asking suggestions form others is good but then she started balantly posing marie's ideas as her own she wasn't even being discreet about it and here she was planning to get rid of marie and i'm sure marie knows but since she is a nice person she would not breach the contract they have made first
