It's so weird how the fashion sense is so opposite in western countries and in Asia. Like I've seen this in manhwa and kdramas and Tai dramas (the whole redheads shouldn't wear green/blue) while in western countries usually we consider those to be the colors that look the most amazing on people with red hair
I'm reminded of that thing with King Salomon and the baby with two women who claimed they were the mom? Like, look at who was the one that let go first and who was the one that was going to keep pulling even if it hurts the one he claims to love
Fascinating! That story exists in Buddhist stories as well where a demon transformed itself as the mother & tried to steal the child but was stopped by the actual mother. The Buddha was called to intervene and declared a tug of war contest to decide who got to keep the child. The mother panicked and let go while the demon won. Thus, the Buddha declared that the woman who lost was the real mother since she couldn't bear to see it harmed. I've grown up with this version and had no idea that other versions existed.
In the Salomon one the king says that he'll cut the baby in half and each of the women can have half of the child, one of the women immediately was willing to let the other one have the child so the baby wouldn't be hurt so Salomon decided that the one who wanted to protect the child was the real mom. I have grown up with that on and also had no idea that other versions existed
Help that's so brutal I feel like you wouldn't even have to be the mother to be like 'Nah, I don't actually want the severed upper body of a kid'. Immensely fascinating how so many cultures have myths, legends & folktales that intersect & parallel each other
