I get where you're coming from but if you think about it, they don't really have a choice but to be the bad guys here cause it's a one sacrified life saves hundreds others kind of situation. They can't afford to let Hwan get stronger cause at some point he'll be too strong for them to handle and then many other human lives will be in danger without them being able to do anything about it. So yeah, it's unfair for the sacrificial pawn but it's the only way to get rid of Hwan as explained in this chapter.

No, I definitely understand their course of action, especially with how dangerous Hwan seems to be. My problem is their attitude. Not one of them seems to be feeling anything more than maybe a shred of guilt about the lives that have been ruined or will be ruined because of how they're handling Hwan. Mynx mentioned they see people more like numbers than individuals with feelings and lives, which is probably true since this is just work for them, but.... I wouldn't want them running MY afterlife with that sort of outlook, is all I'm saying.
