Ahh spoilers about the “au”
Mc was put into a gate/dungeon/something where ml never got his powers and mc never went missing for years.

Mc saved ml as a kid and took care of him (ml was blinded and skin was badly destroyed by poison monster so they both couldn’t recognize each other after mc came back from gate) but when mc disappeared ml was kidnapped by Prometheus group who try to create their own hunter but ml escaped when he got his powers.
In the AU dungeon thingy, they live together in a cute apartment with view of the ocean (like mc promised to bring ml when he visited the hospital) if I remember correctly ml was still blind (because in that world he never got his powers and never healed fully from the poison burns). It was so cute but bittersweet because that’s not what happened. But I also read this a long time ago so maybe this IS what happened because (major plot spoilers) the world is currently in its third cycle (meaning time was rewinded twice) and I think the “AU” world might’ve been what happened in the first iteration. The reason everything changed in this third round was because the gate mc was lost in for so many years was created by the fact that they went back in time twice and is a result of the destroyed worlds (because spoilers the worlds don’t disappear after time rewind)
Btw this story is PLOT PLOT PLOT you won’t get a kiss until halfway into the second part of the story (we’re still on part one)
