So, no one will comment about Ymir? what happened to her? did she die? because that's how I understand this, the brother of the titan Ymir ate said that he saw on Ymir's memory how Reiner acted with his friends inside the wall, so does that mean that he ate Ymir because he was able to see those memories...
I re-read it and yeah, guess I was right, He did ate Ymir and helped Reiner in the battlefield... So, Ymir really died.... so... I guess she cannot marry Christa anymore. TT_TT
We pretty much knew that Ymir went with Reiner and Bertolt knowing that she would get eaten and that she did it for R &B's sake (they failed to take Eren and his power with them and lost Annie too so their mission is not very well accomplished) so it didn't come to me as a surprise at all.
I think Historia knew too when she was reading Ymir's letter, that there's almost no way Ymir could be safe.
Is that so? I was thinking that they would let Ymir join them so I really didn't think she would die and Historia didn't even cry when she received Ymir's letter and she also said in her letter that she couldn't marry YET so I thought there was a chance they would meet again...

I think in Japanese it was said more directly like, 'they'll kill you.'
Also, Ymir says that she will be a 'souvenir' for them and some pages later, Ymir says that she's doing this to pay back for saving her from the nightmare she had for 60 years. (She ate Reiner and Bertolt's friend so she became a 'shifter.') So basically she was prepared to pay back with her life.

After reading this, I understood the conversation I mentioned before.
Reiner, Bertolt (and Reiss) took Eren, not because they wanted Eren himself but for Eren's power to be eaten and transferred to someone who follows Marley's orders.
After all we have read so far, Ymir was obviously someone Marleys wanted dead and pushed down from that dreadful wall to be made a mindless titan. There's no way they'd let her live on having that power.

I think Ymir just wanted to joke about it as she always did, to make Historia feel better, and that's so like Ymir, it's so sweet and sad.
Thanks a lot for explaining these :) , guess I didn't see Historia crying cause it was so brief and really, Ymir was so badass and I thought there is more to happen in her character. So now I think I just have to accept that Ymir is really dead after all :(

what's bothering me is the fact that Ymir was able to transform into human again after eating Renier and Bert's friend with a titan power, also Armin was able to steal the collosal titan by eating Bert, but why is that old titan who ate Eren in the past were not able to go transform into human again and have Eren's power? I am really confused. If Eren were able to transform into a titan inside the belly of that Bearded titan, why couldn't Bert when titan Armin ate him? (not that I want Armin to die)
