There are different genres in stories. There are some people who like ones, and dislikes the others.
In the end, this is not real, they're just fantasies, and there are some people (both male/female/insert genre you feel related to) that like them, and the same you people would like (for example) yaoi stories related to S&M, or gangbangs or whatever.

Yes, violence. Killing & Stalking shows the most outrageous of the relationships in this world (I'm sure there are more offensive ones, but this one touched some people's feelings), and there were still people reading it! And even faving it! I did not like it, but there are some people who really did, and I didn't mind.
