If you see it from different angle the whole country was doomed 5 tribes were separated and people were starving and dying because Yona's father was not a good king.
Even if he killed him out of revenge the fact that he is united the tribes and leading country well will not change.
I used to hate Soowon a lot but now I just can't.

But like, he could have done that without killing him? I mean he could have vlbeen an advisor to king il?
But no, they had to kill him off to progress the story, I wish the author came up with something clever, not this overused "death of a parent to force the character development". It would have been much more interesting if they worked together to convince the king to change his methods. They still could have gone to look for the dtahons and did those adventures, but without yona having to be the onr who lost the most.
We don't even know if it's true or not that suwons dad was killed by king il, it could be a lie he could be framed.
That way suwon doesn't have to be forced into this villain role.
But noooo kill king il, it's easier to write. So stupid.

That's great And all, but if could have done it without killing him. You know, work with him to reform the country like he is doing now, but with the king. People accepted him because he's supposedly smart right, so they would have accepting him working together with the king lol. Like if He didn't kill the king, he would have been cool in my books, but he's not - he's trash.

Like who the hell is he to decide whose life is more important. It's morbid to think that. Like hey, so sorry to say, but trump needs to die for the better of the people. Oh and well kill trumps children and followers too, to make sure there's no threat.

Well at that time things were like that, killing people was something normal since the story is the in a period of war, even our main cast has killed at least someone, the for dragons, yon (when he lived in the fire tribe) and even yona...so, yeah, in this manga killing someone isn't forbidden....another thing, how many ways do you know to dethrone a king? But if he were to removed the king from his position without killing him the he could have been acuse of treason and in worse case scenario there could have been a civil war giving a chance to the other countries a good opportunity to invade seeing how weakend they were.
The flash back let us see how agressive, cold and unfriendly the king was towards Soo won, we know there's a possibility that the former king killed his father and about how against the king was about yona and Soo won,'s relationship, and the king did mention that the reason he couldn't be her husband was because he shouldn't be king....so having that into account, I doubt the king would have even listen Soo won

Her ability is to go to the future, so it means she came from past (800 years ago) to future where Oden is and married him....
