Still...WHAT YIKYUNG'S PARENT TOLD HIM BEFORE HE FELL ASLEEP? The aura and that fade to black were OMINOUS AF and I need to know what they told him. Hopefully nothing negative related to him being a model T_T
Also, I totally suspect that the old man we see in Joobin's flashback (when he's about to faint) is kinda his mentor from back in the day and/or a father figure, that basically told him that if he got outed as gay/bisexual he would never be a successful photographer.
P.s. I wrote bisexual because let's not forget that Joobin did date, at the very beginning of the story, that lady that basically ends up introducing Joobin to Yikyung (or viceversa).
At this point, I am just a masochist for still reading this title, or too naive because I am still hoping Jaekyung will humble the f**k down and grovel at Dan's feet. Or just for Dan to finally decide it's not worth it and leave that abusive man. I think that the moment his granny passes away, Dan will just be done with Jk and will leave his ass.
I actually was really anticipating the authors' notes because I needed to know what was going on in their minds while creating this poorly executed love triangle. And then I read that Cain was the first character to be created and that the concept was born out of his own bg (a pet being reincarnated). And then what do they do? Create a love triangle (with 2 characters that are not on par with Cain at all, I'm sorry Jooin and Yawhi stans), set everything in a present day that doesn't relate to the concept of reincarnation (except from Cain of course) and just use Cain as a device to get the other two to be endgame. And on top of that???? We are told that Cain's whole existence is just in relation of Jooin's existence (like, Cain learned to love himself but he is still not his own person) and that the authors are not likely to show us A FULL ASS BG/SIDE STORY about Cain (and his brothers). Ah and yes also Cain is not allowed to have another love story.
Like, authors, you can use a lot of deep and meaningful concept and just sing praises to all of your ideas and characters, but the execution WAS NOT IT. Just no.
Cain literally deserves his own story. We DO NOT need more side stories about Jooin and Yawhi, who from the very beginning should have had their own story SEPARATED from Cain's story.
They are literally two whole different plots put together just because "love triangles sell". Yes, when they make sense and are well executed. But not like this.
I appreciated reading the process behind this story. I hope the authors are happy with themselves and are resting now. But I will cut my fingers off before reading another one of their stories. Unless it is about giving justice to Cain. That I will read. And it is funny because I was not and I am not a Cain stan lol I didn't even wanted him to end up with Jooin in the end. Like, characters like Cain are not really my favorites in general, but in this webtoon he is the best written character...but he is just a plot device. I am so disappointed but also resigned because I shouldn't have expected anything better after reading the authors' very first webtoon (the one before Yours to Claim, which too had bonker plot).
See yall somewhere else (maybe complaining together on Jinx).
I guess this author is very good with stories that don't mince on gore and violence, but I believe that we were fairly warned since the beginning. I much preferred Incidentally living together (and the short story 1866, super sad), but that one too had moments of pure cruel reality and the author does nothing to make it easier on the reader. I do love how the characters were explored here, most of all Mujin and his refusal to become Sura until the end. This story was NOT my cup of tea, but I believe it was well written.
Thank you so much to who actually explained what's going on here in the story in the comments. You guys are a lifesaver.
Still, reading this webtoon feels like it should probably be either animated (so that to recognize characters by their voices) or turned into a kdrama, so then the characters should look at least a bit different from each other. The transition between panels/scenes is too sudden, not explained properly and fully disjointed, so it just creates confusion in the reader. I don't know if it's kinda a new "artistic" way of storyboarding a webtoon, but frankly is just not clear at all. I hope it's not just us international readers not understanding, but the korean readers too, so at least they can give proper feedbacks to the author on how to pace a story.
Brothers without Tomorrow ALWAYS DELIVERS. I love them so much, them made most of my favorites BL to date. AND THE BABIES T_T they are always so cute and chubby I wanna squish them with hugs and kisses. Also, the level of HOTNESS of all her characters, both tops and bottoms. In this story in particular, I was so so in love with Theo, he is drop dead gorgeous like, I feel you Seram, how can he go and have kids with someone else when Theo exists??? AND NOW THEY ARE BOTH DILFS.
I can't wait for the side stories, and knowing the author, I hope some content about the kids growing up. Also, I would LOVE to see the oast between Theo's and Seram's mums, and also Theo's mum and the red haired lady that helped her in the war/rebellion. They are STUNNING WOMEN.
This series, in all its bad translation and confusing plot, kept me company for 4 years T_T I have to admit I will miss it. I love the photo of everyone taken at the end, they are all lovely couples that we got to know and appreciate (to some degree at least; my faves are still Cinian and Cheng). Kudos to the baby sister that is a true bisexual icon LOL
Guys, we made it!! See you hopefully in the next wild ride lol
